I had acne for over five years and I did a lot of research on how to beat it. These points help those with mild, moderate and severe forms of acne. It is crucial that you avoid these causes to make sure your acne does not get worse.

1. Stress, Anxiety. These two factors are crucial and both lead to each other and worsen the appearance of acne. Both have the potential to lift hormone levels and worsen the condition of the skin.

2. Fast food. Oily foods such as hot chips and burgers.

3. Soft drinks. Coke and every thing other than lemonade and fruit juices are bad for acne.

4. Chocolate. Very high in sugar and fat which can cause big break outs.

5. Poor Sleep. Similar to stress, this can raise hormone levels. And decreases the bodies ability to fight against conditions and diseases of the skin.

6. Make Up. This makes the skin dirty and susceptible to bacteria.

7. Moisturizer. A lot of acne prone skin aggravates when this is applied.

8. Sun cream. Most sun creams are bad for acne. Some can work very well. Look at whether the sun cream is suited to those with acne prone skin.
